Liverpool’s attacking trio is closing in on the leading triplet in Europe, but where do FC Barcelona’s forward line, including Lionel Messi, and Cristiano Ronaldo and his Real Madrid partners sit in the ranking?
Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane have been on fire in recent weeks, and the trio are now just four goals behind Paris Saint-Germain’s attack of Edinson Cavani, Neymar and Angel Di Maria, which has scored 86 goals in all competitions between them, while Liverpool’s triplet follow with 82 strikes.
With Di Maria finding much more game time since Neymar’s injury, the Argentine has replaced Kylian Mbappe in PSG’s most lethal attack. He has scored 21 goals so far, two more than the teenage sensation, while Neymar struck 29 times before picking up his injury, and Cavani sits on 36 goals.
Salah, meanwhile, has scored 40 of Liverpool’s goals this campaign, Roberto Firmino 25 and Mane 17. Lionel Messi’s 37 strikes ensured that Barcelona’s trio, consisting the Argentine, Luis Suarez and Paulinho, climbed to third place after scoring 74 times between them.
Further down the ranking, but also on the up thanks to Ronaldo’s recent goal exploits, sit Real Madrid’s most potent trio in sixth position. However, it’s not the famous “BBC” partnership because Karim Benzema has struggled to find the back of the net this season. Having netted 65 times between them, Real’s current best trio consists of the Portugal superstar, who has scored 41 goals so far in this campaign, Gareth Bale, with 14 strikes, and Marco Asensio with 10.
