Google Chrome WARNING: New update could save YOU from hacking attacks and MALWARE

GOOGLE Chrome is set for an update that will bring additional warnings designed to save users from hacking attacks and dangerous malware when browsing the web

Google Chrome is the American tech giant's browser that is by far the most popular around on mobile and desktop platforms.
The browser is regularly updated by the Mountain View firm, meaning new features and improvements are consistently introduced.
It appears Google's next upgrade for Chrome is centred around making users safer on the internet by alerting them to fraudulent websites.
She said: "What people are seeing in the URL bar really just isn't helpful to them as a security mechanism
"In a security professional’s ideal world, every web user would carefully inspect their browser’s URL bar on every page they visit, verifying that they are accessing the site they intend to be accessing.
"In reality, many users rarely notice the URL bar and don’t know how to interpret the URL to verify a website’s identity.
"An evil URL may even be carefully designed to be indistinguishable from a legitimate one, such that even an expert couldn’t tell the difference!"
The new Chrome warning is designed to alert users when they are on a fraudulent site like "paypa1.com" instead of "paypal.com".
Such pages take advantage of phishing methods as a platform for hack attacks and to deliver malware to users, as noted by CNET.
Essentially, the Chrome warning is designed to alert the user they should leave the site in question and not enter vital information such as credit or debit card details.
Discussing the new feature, Stark emphasised Google wanted the warning to be "informal rather than scary".

It is understood the user will have the option to ignore the warning if they choose once it has been released.
ZDNet recently posted images of the warning running in Chrome Canary.
Chrome Canary is an early version of the browser that is used to test forthcoming features.
In the example shown by the outlet, an alert appeared suggesting the user head to "paypal.com" instead of the "paypai.com" URL that had been navigated to.
Although a released date for the new warning has not been confirmed, its appearance in Canary means it may not be long before all Chrome fans receive it.
It is also unknown if the feature will arrive on smartphones in addition to desktops.
